Description: 0359----1839 James Wolcott steamship receipt - Maumee Ohio - numerous products Original, historical 1839 document concerning well known resident + merchant James Wolcott. Considered a pioneer of Maumee Ohio. This steamship receipt from the American Transport Company list numerous products, apparently coming "from Boston to Maumee City by vessels on the lake." Wolcott is clearly referred to twice as well as Maumee City. The exact date of the document is July 4, 1839 and measures 8-1/2 x 11. It remains in good condition despite it's age - some creases and wear along the borders, but is clearly legible in all areas. The handwriting is much clearer than presented in our images below.
