Description: 1 Glastonbury Lotus Alberta Panel Etched Crystal Sherry Glass. The Lotus Glass Company was incorporated in 1912 in Barnesville, Ohio. Lotus was a unique provider of fine glassware, especially stemware and dinnerware, however never actually making their own glass. In the 1920s and 30s Lotus Glass Co. was known for purchasing a variety of glass blanks from most all of the fine glass factories along the Ohio Riversome of those include: Fostoria, Cambridge, Duncan Miller, Heisey and Paden City to mention a few. Lotus artisans then took the fine glass blanks and cut or etched them to their own specifications or client orders. Lotus Glass Co. is still in business today, following its merger with the Glastonbury Silver Co in the 1960s, however they now are listed as Glastonbury/Lotus. Lovely 1920's Crystal Sherry Glass, this pattern appears to be the Alberta Cut A pattern, on stem #23 (probably a Fostoria blank)late 1920s or early 1930s.
