Description: I recently purchased a large collection of late 1700's and early 1800's porcelain from a prolific, affluent serious collector. Most items have printed titles or mottos. Everything is in outstanding condition and there are many rare and unusual pieces. Please see my other others -- as always, combined purchased charged only actual shipping. Antique Blue transferware 10-3/8" Bowl in the MARMORA pattern by William Ridgway & Co. The company produced the pattern from 1834 to 1854 at the Church Works, Staffordshire. The underside has printed hallmarks & pattern name under an anchor and urn, as well as impressed Staffordshire heraldic crest. The hallmark of “W. R. & Co.” was used from 1832 – 1838. The pattern depicts a romantic, stylized island between the Black and Agean Seas. The island is famous for its marble quarries. This scene in this pattern has a large tree emerging from the river bank on one side, people in a boat in the river, foreground figures on the near bank, and buildings with towers or minarets in the background. In the border, vertical trellis dividers separate different scenic vignettesCondition: Excellent giftable condition. This bowl is in fabulous condition for its age. No mentionable condition issues. No crazing or discoloration. Transfer and over-painting intact without erosion or damage. No chips, flakes, breaks, mends, repairs, blemishes, or mentionable boo-boo's. Don't feel anything amiss when I run finger around edges. No evidence of prior repairs or restoration. Imperceptible Light surface scratches in from use commiserate with age. Dimensions: 10-3/8” diameter x 1-3/8” profile depth. Unpacked weight 1 Lb. 2.2 oz. Always happy to pass through discounts on combined shipping. I only charge actual postage, and always use recycled packing materials. Note some photos appear redundant because I take photos from all possible angles. On symmetrical items, these photos may appear redundant when there are no distinguishing differences or condition issues between side views. I gladly accept returns, but please note I do not pay return postage unless there was a significant error in my description. The item listed is being sold as is, as pictured and as described to the best of my knowledge. All dimensions and weights approximate. If you have a question or an assumption on an item prior to purchase, please ask. I much prefer to take the time on the front end to make sure you will be satisfied with your purchase.Remember, when buying vintage expect imperfections as these items have a history and have been in the possession of others. I try to list EVERY flaw which would be commented on something in an antique or vintage condition – this does not mean all imperfections resulting from normal wear & use require comment. My goal is to have no rude surprises upon receipt.
