Description: Offered here is a lovely 18th century engraved map of the Gulf of St Lawrence area of Canada. The map is published by Rigobert Bonne (1727-1794) one of the most renowned French cartographers of the 18th century. The map is plate 119 from a Bonne atlas. It was engraved by Gaspard Andre who engraved many maps for Bonne's atlases. This map is entitled: Isle et Banc de Terre-Neuve;Isle Royale et Isle St. Jean;Avec L'AcadieOu La Nouvelle Ecosse.Par M. Bonne, Ingenr-Hydrographede la Marine The map is uncolored, on fine laid and watermarked paper, and measures 11 1/2 inches in height and 16 1/8 inches in width. This map is from my personal collection which I am beginning to sell off. Unless noted otherwise in the description, the prints, art and other items that I sell are not "reproductions".
