Description: I have here for sale a book entitled WALES ILLUSTRATED IN A SERIES OF VIEWS comprising the Picturesque Scenery, Towns, Castles, Seats of the Nobility and Gentry, Antiquities, etc. Engraved on Steel from original drawings by Henry Gastineau. The first half of the book covers North Wales and the second half South Wales. North Wales has 88 b/w plates (2 to a page) and South Wales has 120 (2 to a page). There is historical and topogrpahical accompanying descriptions. Vignette to title page also.Half black leather on brown marbled hardboards. 4 gilt decorative raised bands and gilt lettering to the spine. Corners, board edges and head and tail of spine have wear. Slight rubbing to the marbled paper. Boards firm. Marbled endpapers and page edges. Some foxing to the plate edges. Text pages generally clean. 28 x 22 cm.We have over 2000 items in our Ebay shop on a range of subjects, so please feel free to have a browse and see if anything else takes your fancy. Postage will be by Air Mail outside of UK. If you buy more than one item then the postage cost falls for the second and further items as I will put them into one parcel - so you save money.
