1845 QV Young Head Silver Crown Harshly graded by PCGS (See my description)

Description: Here is good example of this coin graded harshly by PCGS. A bit of background on this coin before being graded. As someone who always like the young head series. I had been collecting QV coins since mid-1980's. This coin was graded by well known UK dealer as EF+ with ticket price of £1200. My own opinions on this coin is EF with very nice hair/head band shows great details. The rev look to be GEF with the shield and crown look almost UNC. PCSG harshly say Repaired - AU Details. OK, how come I have come across this type of coins in UK GVF condition with similar problem end up with AU50-53. Are you saying this coin worth less than one grade AU50 which look no where near as good. IMHO this is completely stupid. As this made mocky of the values of UK coins and we may as well forget collecting coins as it's basically gambling. BTW I have no idea what PCGS mean by repaired. As they didn't explain. I noticed number of other QV young head coins graded by GB based graders at EF also come back from PCGS as repaired AU. So a pattern is emerging what PCGS's definition of repaired/damaged may well be normal wear and tear in UK grading term. Perhaps I should try to buy up all the graded AU/EF repaired/damaged coins to do some researches myself. Hopefully, Genuine collectors now know what I am getting at. Lastly while am no expert on US coins hence offer no opinions on them. As someone with 40+ years experience of collecting GB/Chinese coins. I think PCGS/NGC grading on Chinese/UK coins of the 18th/19th century should be taken with very large pinch of salt. Thanks for reading this. PS I have come across this type of coin graded AU55 look less impressive than this one sold for £1500+
