Description: The Corporation of Winchester twenty-five cent bank note dated October 24, 1861, D. There is a hole on the left and this is a well-worn note. I have several and they are no better. This is a very difficult note to find in better condition. Winchester Virginia changed hands about 67 times during the Civil War and life was difficult beyond measure during those times. This is a town where brother fought brother during the conflict. Like this note, life was hard making this specimine quite collectable.
