A great find from a local Massachusetts estate! This autograph book is over 159 years old! Embossed leather binding is in great shape overall. Gilt lettering to the front board still shines despite age, as do the gilt page edges. Internally, the boards remain secured to the binding as do all the page groupings. 104 pages total with the majority of pages showing a signature. The signatures are from 1864-1868. This autograph book was the property of Fannie Lucretia Sibley, née Ballou, born in 1848 in Whitingham, Vermont, and longtime resident of Rowe, Massachusetts. There’s a note in the back that states this albums is from the Fannie Ballou Sibley & Robert Kimberly von Reuss-Chenberg collection. Numerous residents of both Rowe, Massachusetts and Brattleboro, Vermont have signed this book. Other locations include New Haven, Connecticut; Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts; Warwick, Massachusetts; Templeton, Massachusetts; Preston, New York; Marlboro, New York; Smithville, New York; Oxford, New York, Munson(?), Illinois; Faribault, Minnesota; and Readsboro, Vermont.
