The first biography of Major-General John Sullivan published in 1868. Contains much family and anecdotal information. Gen. Sullivan is best known for his military expedition which devastated the homeland of the Iroquois Confederacy in central New York State in 1779. This book is in very good condition. Boards are straight and clean with corners that have been bumped. Shelf wear/rubbing to the boards along the edges, corners and at the top/bottom of the spine panel. Previous owners name written on the front pastedown. The spine and pages are very tight with hinges that are just starting to split. Text block is tight within the binding.
