Description: This very beautifully printed large antique tobacco card is entitled, "Assault on Fort Donelson'. In 1887 Duke Cigarettes released this large card in series of 25, showing paintings of Civil War Battle Scenes. Each of these scarce and very colorful nineteenth-century tobacco cards feature striking colorful lithographs of a Battle Scene from the Civil War, with a caption on front. The cards were issued along with Gail & Ax's Long Navy Cut brand and Duke's Honest Long Cut tobacco, by the American Tobacco Co., Baltimore, MD. The back of each includes a list of the Battle Cards, and an ad for the tobacco.The trade card you see in the photos is the card you'll be receiving.
