She has well over 10,000 books in her library and we will, very slowly, be listing some of them on ebay. The author examines the various artistic representations of these biblical events, providing detailed descriptions and analysis of each work. In addition to exploring the art itself, the book also provides historical and cultural context for each piece. The author draws upon her extensive knowledge of art history and religious studies to provide readers with a deep understanding of the significance of each work. This is an essential resource for anyone interested in the intersection of art and religion. It offers a unique perspective on the life of Jesus Christ and the many ways in which artists have sought to capture his story over the centuries.” These two books are in VG condition. There is significant foxing to the first & last several pages of each volume. One page & one tissue guard are loose but other than that the hinges and spine seem firm and tight so the loose page may have been caused by someone yanking on it rather than the spine coming apart (although the books are 130 years old so….). There are two small & neat ownership stickers (or perhaps bookstore stickers?) on the inside of each cover. Other than that, no writing, stickers, stamps, rips, tears, dogears, stains, odors, mold, mildew, or water stains. Smoke free home. Everything will be mailed using re-used boxes. No handling charge. Buyer pays actual shipping costs in the continental US. I have a full time job and I only get to the post office once a week. Please do not expect this to arrive tomorrow. International bidders will pay actual shipping costs which are shockingly, staggeringly, prohibitively expensive.
