Description: Beautiful Copper-Nickel Coin 1899 AD 1293 AH year 25 Egyptian One Tenth Qirsh Ottoman Sultan Abdul Hamid II For your Egyptian Coin Collection-EGC799 Details Description: A great looking and lightly toned about uncirculated or much better copper-nickel coin from Egypt. This is a 1/10 of a qirsh coin from the reign of the Ottoman Sultan Abdul Hamid II. The coin shows the sultan's tughra, a rose to the right and above the tughra and year 25 below it all surrounded by a floral design all along the border of the obverse. The reverse says Duribah Fi Misr (struck in Egypt) with the number 1 in the center (the denomination). The border also says that it is a tenth of qirsh and displays the year 1293 AH, which is Abdul Hamid accession date to the throne. It is KM 289 measuring approximately 14.7 mm in diameter and weighing about 1.75 grams. The coin has a plain rim. This is a rare coin in this grade being of such low denomination, which was heavily circulated and abused. Please carefully review scan as it is part and parcel of our description. Condition: I would grade this coin as a good about uncirculated or much better with all the details being well preserved. The coin has great eye appeal. The coin has scratches, some bag marks, and some minor dings to the rim. It is much better than the scan shows. It has wear commensurate with its age and circulated status.
