It opens from the rear with a "No. 331 All Rights Reserved, Livermore & Knight CO., Prov. R.I." 4 1/8" x 7" folded (as sent in the mail) and 16 1/8" x 4 1/8" when opened. My theory is that the outside was a stock advertising item and the interior (all black) could be printed to suit--in this case for a Boots, Shoes and Rubbers manufacturer. One of the finest philatelic advertising items I've ever seen. A small knick out of the Scott# 300 stamp.
