It must have been an emergency issue, as it is an old “Czarist” design, from the “Imperial” government the Soviets had just overthrown. The note is dated 1909 but has a three-digit serial number. The original 1909 notes, issued under the Czar, had full serial numbers. This note was actually issued in 1917 by the Soviets. Size: 97 Millimeters or 3.82 Inches x 158 Millimeters or 6.22 Inches. Oversize holder necessary and included. "Standard Catalog of World Paper Money" (General Issues 1368-1960) by Albert Pick. #35. Face: YA 123 • Blue and multicolor. • 1909 • Crowned, double-headed “Imperial” eagle. Back: Czarist or Russian Imperial arms. The Note: A little-used example, with a neat story to tell. It has been folded but is still quite “crispy”. No edge or body tears and no pinholes. The note will be sent in a new “oversize” currency holder that protects it.
