Description: Here is a 1926 The Old Mother Goose Nursery Rhyme Book that contains many, if not all, the nursery rhymes we all grew up hearing. I believe this is a FIRST EDITION. THE BINDING IS TEARING AND FRAYING but the cover and inside pages, for the most part, are intact other than a few pages that have been taped (see pictures). This book belonged to published author, IRENE BOWEN, and is inscribed on one of the inside pages “Christmas 1926 from her father and mother”. There are also two pages of written verse entitled “the fox and his wife” along with other stories. Not sure if Irene wrote those verses or, perhaps, her mother.
