Trader-BOB's MUSIC offers another outstanding instrument from a recent collection purchase. The person I got this from received it as a birthday present, from his wife, in 1955. It was bought from the original purchaser, that bought it from Montgomery Wards. I am the third owner. A 1938 Recording King M-3 Archtop Acoustic Guitar. Made by Gibson. Reading Gruhn's details on this M-3, it fits into 1938 production. Small signs of wear, but way above the average for an 85 year old instrument. No cracks, or dents. I have not polished this guitar, the finish, is as I got it. I am not sure about the originality of the bridge, it does not match the one that Jake Wildwood has online. The rest of the guitar looks original. Grover tuners. 19 fret neck, rosewood fret board, very little wear one the board, and wires. .016" neck relief, fantastic for a non-trussrod guitar. It's the multi wood, multi layer laminate neck construction. .100" string action height. Sounds and plays as good as it looks. This hard case is the strongest, and best made, I have ever seen. 3 hinges, and 5 draw bar latches, and HEAVY. IT'S ALL ABOUT CONDITION !! Read my feedback, buy with confidence!
