Description: This mixed media painting on board looks like water color or gouache and probably pen or ink as a base. It is signed what looks to br Marilyn Thayer in the lower right corner. This piece measures 20 inches tall by 15 inches wide. There is a small stain or discoloration in the upper right corner. No rips or breaks in the board. I would say this was probably done in the late 1940s when the pen first came out and has the style for that. I've had this piece for over 20 years and bought it at a sale with another advertising piece done by Marilyn Thayer for a harpers bazaar magazine cover dated June 1947. I'm not sure if she actually ever got her art on the cover or just made the cover art to have it judged to be used for their magazine.
