Description: 1945 ONE YEN World War II Allied Military Currency (AMC) note. Serial number A 19746770 A. This was a form of currency issued by the Allied powers during WWII to be issued to troops entering liberated or newly occupied countries, as a form of currency control. Majority were printed by the United States Bureau of Engraving and Printing and subsequently were printed in Japan. Notes with the B underprint were legal tender for Japanese citizens from September 1945 until July 1948. B yen notes were used in Okinawa until 1958. Obverse is black on light blue underprint and blue text with Large B in underprint. Reverse has a brown with ornament and oak twigs.
