Description: For sale is an NOS taillight lens for 1955 and 1956 Dodge cars. It is in outstanding condition with no scratches, scrapes or chips along the edges. It comes in its original MoPar envelope. A little background on variations....because Chrysler was in the for-profit industry they wisely decided to make FOUR types of this lens for 55-56 Dodge, so if you are looking to match one that is on your car, take a look at what you have. This particular lens has the pebble finish on the inside, and in the parts book, it fits 1955 Dodge Coronet and Royal (D55-1, D55-2 and D56). In 1956, Chrysler used the exact same shape for the lens on Dodge Coronets and Royals (D62, D63-1, D63-2), but it is smooth inside rather than pebbly. The part number for that lens is 1658709. They can be used interchangeably, the only difference is the texture of the inside. When Chrysler made the new lens, it was called out as the correct replacement for the 55 Dodges. And then Chrysler also made two deeper lenses, one pebbly and one smooth. Long story short, this is the shallower lens with the pebbly finish inside. The MoPar part# of 1604381 is cast into the back edge of the lens.
