Marx, Houston, Texas, represents the armed forces along with Private First Class Herbert Farmer of Downsville, Louisiana, at the recent issuing of a proclamation for the observance of Pal Day in New York City by the mayor. For the fourth successive year, United Service Organizations' Pal Day, a gesture of hospitality and appreciation from civilians to service men and women, will be celebrated throughout the country during the month of November. Last year, thousands of service personnel enjoyed the hospitality accorded them by grateful citizens through the auspices of United Service Organizations. Pal Day has become an event which includes several hundred communities and is participated in by fraternal and civic organizations, city officials, churches and family groups.Photo measures 10 x 8.25inches.
