Description: After some years of restoring, I’ve (at 73) decided to sell my early ‘56 MGA (HDE43/13940….Eng.# 15GB1028) to focus on my “51 TD! The MGA has been in dry storage for over 40 years, with neither rust nor dents in this extremely rare, matching numbers, car. Of course, since it came off of the Abingdon line in the first week of march, 1956, it has all of the original components of the new MGA, including the RARE western-lettered gauges. There are VERY FEW aftermarket parts here. The car was originally produced as a left hand driver, but was (so the story went) converted to RHD by the serviceman who bought it in England and brought it back home with him in the late 50’s. So, it is a right hand driver but, of course, is easily converted to left hand. This car comes with virtually everything you’ll need (mostly NIB) to put it on the road, including a nut and bolt collection that I got from Clarke Spares years ago. I’ve powder-coated the frame, rebuilt both front and rear suspensions, steering rack, rebuilt shocks, new bearings all around, a 3.9 differential, oversized aluminum petrol tank, a stainless exhaust, an anti-sway bar and new Dunlop wires (tuned)and Vredestein Sprint tires. Engine rebuilt with hardened valve seats and new pistons and camshaft. Carbs rebuilt by Joe Curto, original Lockheed wheel cylinders brass lined by White Post Restorations. Comes with three original radiators, three gear boxes, spare drive shaft, all sheet metal with many spares, including a right front fender. Original seat frames blasted and painted, with new wood and rails… and top bow blasted and painted. New Chrome (bumpers, overriders and grill) still in wrappers. It’s pretty much all there, folks!
