Description: 1959 Topps #64 Joe De Maestri Kansas City Athletics PSA 7 NM NEAR-MINT This is a High-end PSA 7 Joe De Maestri card with nice corners, straight edges, and centering measuring 70/30 (L-R) in a clean, clear slab. De Maestri played eleven years in the majors after signing with Boston in ‘46. He spent 4 years in their minor league system but was drafted by the White Sox with whom he made his major league debut in ‘51. He played for the Browns for part of one season, but found his home in Kansas City with the Athletics where he anchored shortstop for the seven years he played with them. He fit the prototypical shortstop, for the times, when a light hitting shortstop owed his life on the field to his defenses skills. Den Maestri did this very well.
