Description: 1965 Gemini VII/6 “First Rendezvous In Space” with astronauts Frank Borman and Jim Lovell aboard Gemini VII and Walter Schirra and Thomas Stafford in Gemini 6A. This is an official American Space Flight 25th Anniversary Medal issued by the National Space Society and minted by the Franklin Mint. Medal is sterling (0.925) silver and measures 39mm. 1966 Gemini X - “First Space-Made Vehicle” with astronauts John Young and Michael Collins; who is emerging from the capsule hatch. This medal is from the Danbury Mint “Men In Space” Series measuring 36mm and made of sterling (0.925) silver. Both medals are lustrous and proof-like but have some small scratches and haze spots. Project Gemini started in 1961, concluded in 1966, and was NASA's second human spaceflight program conducted between projects Mercury and Apollo. The Gemini spacecraft carried a two-astronaut crew (16 individual astronauts) and flew low Earth orbit missions during 1965 - 1966.
