Description: Up for sale, a circa 1962 Fender Bassman 2x12 speaker cabinet, loaded with a pair of vintage Jensen C12NA 12" ceramic magnet speakers. This Pre-CBS Brown Panel-era cabinet is an ideal pairing for a 6G6 "piggyback" Bassman head, retaining the original rough blonde tolex and oxblood grillcloth. This cabinet has the necessary 23 1/2" spacing center-to-center on the thumb screw inserts on the top of the cab. This spacing makes the cab definitively for a Bassman, not to be confused with many cabs made for Bandmasters with wider thumb screw spacing. The Jensen C12NA speaker pair includes one driver from 1965 and one from 1967. With each speaker able to easily handle 40 tube watts, this cab has great headroom, power, and punch. The two 8 ohm speakers are wired for a 4 ohm load. The cabinet was at one time painted black and stripped back to the original blonde, with remnants of the black most noticeable on the top and bottom edges of the cab. There is one tear in the tolex on top, and there are a couple small holes in the grillcloth and one larger area of wear along the central divider. Original hardware includes the flat Fender logo, nickel-plated corners and thumbscrews, while the molded "dogbone" handle, sphinx glides (feet) and chrome-plated tilt-back legs are modern Fender components.
