For auction is a passenger train timetable from Southern; it is dated May 1, 1966 and contains listings for all passenger runs made. Listings are by train number, with arrival/departure times for stations served. Southern's primary trains were the Crescent, Southerner, Peach Queen, Piedmont Limited, Augusta Special, and Asheville Special; equipment manifests are provided for these runs. There are also schedules for trains operated in cooperation with other railroads, to include the Birmingham Special, Pelican, Tennessean, and Royal Palm. There is a nice 2-page centerpage map showing Southern's service area, with lines of connecting railroads also marked; fare schedules for coach and Pullman services; a listing of Southern offices and agents; and some great period railroad advertising. This timetable measures appx 9x4 inches unopened, opens to appx 9x8 inches, and contains 20 pages. The cover is a medium-weight semi-glossy paperstock, and the content pages are a mid-grade paper. Best yet, this timetable appears to be unused, little use at best, and is in excellent condition. There are no rips, tears, writing, markings, spills or smears, and the binding is secure with all pages firmly in place. A must item for the collection of any Southern railfan.
