Description: We go to estate sales regularly and come across a wide array of unique and rare items. We add to our growing online inventory daily. We pick up new items from all over the world and all over the US. We also have a growing customer wish list. If you'd like to, feel free to add us to your saved seller's list and let us know what you collect and/or need. We’d be honored to add you to our customer wish list. We ask what we consider to be a fair price for anything we sell and understand that our idea of a fair price may be someone else's 'that's too much' price. If that's the case, feel free to make us an offer and will consider it. We also have sales regularly, so check back often. There is always a Sale by TheBay! We picked up a pretty large collection of slides from the 1960s to the early 1970s several years ago and just put them in one of the closets in the house. We got the collection form a lady who worked for and retired from the Red Cross. She moved to Korea before the Korean War and before it was split into North and South Korea. She later moved to Vietnam during the Korean War before moving back home to the states and retiring from the organization. There are some really cool slides in here of some from throughout North Africa, Asia and the United States. We will be listing them in the days and weeks ahead, so if you're a collector, feel free to check out our inventory as we keep adding slides.PLEASE NOTE: We set our shipping option as buy one item and pay for shipping for the first item and every item with the same shipping option, regardless of category, ships for free. eBay is constantly updating their system, so it doesn't always work. If the shipping discount isn't showing up on your end, we will adjust it accordingly on our end and send you a revised invoice. Now onto the item for sale. For sale is a 35mm slide of the Japan World Exposition, Osaka, 1970, aka Expo '70, held in Osaka, Japan, dated February 1971.It seems like original 35mm slides and photographs of this exposition are quite hard and rare to come by. If you're a collector, we have quite a few for sale and we're always happy to provide bulk discounts and only charge for shipping on the first slide. This slide is a really cool shot of the radiant structure at the Switzerland Pavilion. The original official guide to the Expo '70 called this structure the Radiant Structure that symbolized harmony and diversity. It was constructed of steel and stood 69 feet tall and 180 feet in diameter. It was compared to a highly stylized tree with a sturdy trunk that split and vanished gradually into ramifications and the entire surface was decked with aluminum plates. It had 32,000 glass spheres that flashed in the sunlight and shined as electric lights in the evening. The slide is in excellent, undamaged condition and ready to be turned into a photograph if desired.PLEASE NOTE: Our lighted table doesn't have a very strong light, so the slide isn't as bright as it is when lit by a stronger light, such as in a projector. However, the slide is quite a bit brighter than shown in the pictures. This slide will be shipped in a padded envelope via media mail with the USPS. We wrap all our items that ship in padded envelopes in cardboard for extra protection during shipping.PLEASE NOTE: We set our shipping option as buy one item and pay for shipping for the first item and every item with the same shipping option, regardless of category, ships for free. eBay is constantly updating their system, so it doesn't always work. If the shipping discount isn't showing up on your end, we will adjust it accordingly on our end and send you a revised invoice. Thanks for looking and God bless!
