Description: This item is a 1988-D WASHINGTON NGC MS 67 25C *20/0 pop - $495 Price Guide value - 2426 Registry points,* coin is as titled, described and pictured. 2nd ranked grade behind MS 67+ of 2/0 pop. The trend is that all late year dates of the late 1980's have very low pops in MS 67 across the board and a MS 68 grade almost unheard of. I purchased this coin 8 years ago from "The King of Coins" Mark DiLauro of eBay seller "datentype". Here are the notes he put up on his listing of June 1, 2016: "1988-D Washington Quarter NGC MS 67 *Pop 14/0 - Rare!* 3$845bnodate. They have raised their standards quite a bit for the MS 67 Clad Washington quarter level these days at NGC but as you can see, this coin is all there and then some. I have been after this date for about 5 years and a finally made the grade - get this one while you can if you need it as it might be a long, long time before you have a chance at another. This coin is a pop 14/0 in this grade and there is no price guide for it at NGC as it is not often traded . Up for a sale is a super nice and hard to find business strike coin Washington 1988-D NGC MS67 and you will love it. Please feel free to contact me to discuss the coin as it is priced to sell. Great strike and luster with very few marks consistent with the grade." At that time in 2016 NGC had rescinded their prior PG value of $1,940 to none given. We agreed on a deal for $600 which was the lowest price of the 3 coins he graded. The pop has increased by 6 over the past 8 years. PCGS has a current MS67 pop of 15(2+)/0 with a Price Guide of $850 (and for the 2+ a PG of $4,250). Coin Expert Jaime Hernandez of PCGS states the following: "The 1988-D Washington Quarter is one of the tougher dates in MS67 condition in the Clad Quarter series from 1976 to Date. it is even more difficult to find than some of the Silver Washington Quarter issues. As an example, the 1939 Washington Silver Quarter has well over 250 examples graded in MS67 condition, with at least 15 or more higher. Compare this to only 15 coins graded in MS67 condition with two finer for the 1988-D Quarter. It is definitely a very tough issue and very underestimated for the series."
