Description: About this vehicle 1992 CHRYSLER TV NEWS BROADCAST VAN. SUPER RARE. V6 3.3L automatic. 42,000miles (67,000km) give or take. Chrysler Town & Country platform (same as Dodge Caravan). Uses standard Mopar parts. GVWR 6500 VIN# 1U9JA4728NA108090 All fiberglass body. 17.5 feet long 8ft high. LED displays on 3 sides (Would have shown news flashes). COLLECTOR’S VEHICLE, MUSEUM EXHIBIT, or just VERY COOL van to drive or camp in. A real HEAD TURNER. Custom made for TV/News company by US Motor Corp. Limited edition. No one has ever seen one before--not even broadcast vehicle dealers. It can be driven from the residential lot it is on. Since it’s a 32 year-old vehicle that has only been doing occasional local driving I would recommend a trailer or flatbed for a journey further than your AAA membership can do. Just to be on the safe side. If you arrange towing I will supervise the pick-up. Seller's Notes I am the third owner. I bought this van in June 2015 when it had 31,000 original miles. The odometer stopped working at 37,198 miles after a few years. It has only driven a few hundred miles each year since. I estimate the mileage to be around 41k or 42k now. The LED display is not working—it seems the wiring was all disconnected prior to me owning it. It used to have a roof-top A/C unit—I removed it and installed a second opening skylight. The previous owner moved the battery to behind the driver’s seat (more accessible). They also removed the generator, installed storage units, and built an excellent folding bed platform over a storage box. Plus there’s a stainless steel sink (faucet not connected), & water tank. It has been kept in a garage until May 2024. Vehicle Details —Runs great —Fresh inspection sticker (to Oct 2025) —Brakes work well —Tires have excellent tread. 215/75R15. Two Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S and two Maxtrek SU-800 —Fits in a parking space. 17 1/2 feet long, 6 feet 8 inches wide, 8 feet high (at highest point). 6 feet 2 inches standing height inside in the middle. 5 feet 6 high in rear section —Heater works (but how good I can’t say) —Since 2015 garaged (till May 2024) —Since 2015 not driven in winter (except 1 or 2 local trips) —Basic camper set-up (Matress and quilt for display—not included) —Clean underneath (except for usual surface rust) WORK IT NEEDS —LED Display not operational—needs to be wired and connected to a device) —No passenger door. Friends try to get in that side, haha! (Fiberglass vehicle rollover safety feature) —No A/C —Radio turns on but I haven’t heard sound —Engine is accessed through the hinged panel behind the dash. A bit awkward. —Odometer and speedo do not work. —Gas gauge is unreliable but low gas warning sound works —Lights in rear cabin not working —Camper cabinets a bit rough —Driver door window broke. Plexiglass replacement taped in —Fiberglass panel under front bumper is cracked (see photo) —Rubber door seals need replacing —No opening windows driver door and opposite side —Wipers work but are a bit floppy. The tubes for washer fluid pop off on accasion. —Driver’s seat cloth is torn. —Carpet removed. Will need to be replaced. (Floor feels a bit flimsy—may need reinforcing). —Carpeting on walls is peeling. Where there insulation it needs replacing —Very occasionally the headlights and indicators start blinking temporarily on closing the door or when the battery is reconnected. It lasts a minute or two and then goes away. There appears to be a short somewhere that I haven’t found Exterior Body (all angles); Eagle on grille removed (comes with); Front skirt fiberglass cracked; Fresh sticker; Side storage (where generator used to be; Back hatch lifts up (with Vintage eagle nutcracker handle); All terrain tires w/good tread Interior All fiberglass dash; OD stopped at 37k; Caroet removed in floor well; Simple camper build with folding bed platform over storage; Futon with quilt for display only NFS; Opening skylight 1 of 2; Sink and tap (not hooked up); Water tank underneath.
