Description: 1997-98 SELECT CRICKET TRADING CARD CAPTAINS CHASE CARD C2 MONTY NOBLEAustralia has a rich history of producing Cricket Trading Cards. In the past 30 years, despite there are release gaps now and then, Australia has produced many Cricket trading cards in most of the season. Futera, regarded as the pioneer manufacturer of modern cricket cards series, had produced cricket cards between 1993 to 1997 and left collectors market with many great cards collection even by today’s standard. Select Australia had their first try on the cricket cards in 1997/98 and 1998/99 season, while Topps Europe had given it a go in 2000/01 and 2001/02 season. Australia’s company, Elite Sports Property manufactured Cricket cards from 2002/03 season and ended the licence at the end of 2005. After 2 years with no cricket cards released, Select Australia had taken over the right again in 2007/08 season, and continued 4 years until the 2010/11 Ashes Factory set releases. From 2012/13 up to now, there are Cricket cards released by SE Products ( Big Bash), Tap N play, and to today’s TLA Cricket trading cards releases ( there are a couple of years with no card release in this period). The 1997-98 Select Cricket cards is the first Cricket Trading Card Series released by Select Australia. 7000 boxes produced , 36 packs in the box, it included international cricketers of NZ and South Africa ( based on the recent competition with these 2 countries). AUSTRALIA CAPTAINS is a 10-card subset released in the 1997/98 Select Cricket card series. Randomly inserted in the pack at 1: 50 packs. This 10-card set included a selection of 10 outstanding Test Captains of the past and present.
