Description: This listing is for two (2) glass diaphragms and four (4) rubber gaskets. Applications include: Edison Automatic Reproducer, Edison Automatic Recorder / Edison Standard Speaker, Graphophone Q, B (aka Eagle), Heavy Eagle, and others. Early Columbia Q and B reproducers have a threaded retaining ring to hold the gaskets and diaphragm in place. Other applications may require one rubber or cork gasket to be placed under the diaphragm, and then the outer (exposed) edge to be sealed with beeswax. If you need assistance, please ask. These diaphragms are .007” thick and approx 1-5/16" in diameter. They are fragile and require careful handling. No, they are not tempered and neither are the glass diaphragms sold by other sellers. (Break one on purpose and find out. Tempered glass shatters into small bits. GOOD glass for diaphragms will break into slivers!) Simple as that. You don't want a tempered diaphragm anyway. They are not designed for a high vibration rates as they are already under high tension from the tempering process. Don't trust or believe exaggerated claims of "custom specifications" because they simply aren't true and every collector worth their salt knows it. We've tested everything out there and we trust that the type of glass that we are using is on par with, and performs like, the original glass diaphragms offered over 100 years ago! Proper adhesives to attach the link eyelet to the diaphragm include a melted shellac flake (available upon request) as well as modern CA glue (yes, it DOES work) and a variety of two-part epoxies. Yes, 21st century technology includes 21st century adhesives! Taking care in preparing and cleaning your diaphragm and link eyelet are imperative to proper installation. Liquid shellac will not work...only shellac flakes. Folks who tell you that modern adhesives don't work simply don't have the experience needed. If two-part epoxies would have been available to folks like Thomas Edison you can bet he'd have been using them all along. There are no "secret" formulas. If you need help, just ask. If you need a diaphragm link eyelet, please ask and I will list some for you
