Madness were one of the bands that helped launch 2-Tone, and they went on to have the most commercial success of any of the 2-Tone bands. This is their debut single, where it became quite obvious who their inspiration was. The A side song, "The Prince", is an homage to Jamaican ska legend Prince Buster. The B side song is a cover of Prince Buster's "Madness", by which the band took its name. This single was released in 1979. It comes in the classic Walt Jabsco paper sleeve. I collected all of the 2-Tone singles in the 90s, but now I have decided it's time to share them with other fans that love this music as much as I do.
