Description: These two (selling as the pair) absolutely stunning gold leaf, paper Mâché, autumn leaf masks have a face in the center with both eye and nostril cutouts. These are both textured thick pieces that have veins just like a leaf. Both are signed pieces from Venice that were purchased in 2006. These have been stored away for many years. Both are in very good condition except for one, one of the leaf tips has been bent and needs to be repaired, (see picture it is circled in orange), This bend is fullyfully intack on the backside and not noticeable on the front unless looking for it , These measure 20 “ long x 14” wide x approx 2” tall and both have a ribbon hanger to hang them on the wall. Backside is a black cloth. I wish I could read the artist signature, but since I can’t have included close-ups, part of it looks like it says 2006. I don’t know if these were originally intended for Mardi Gras, a Masquerade Ball or if they were made just to be art on the wall. Either way, I believe these could be used at a ball as the stems are very thick and sturdy for holding. Pictures do not do these two pieces of art justice. If eBay overcharges you and shipping.
