This auction is for a MINT NEVER HINGED Extra Fine-Superb PSE Certified PRECANCELED horizontal Joint Line Strip of 4 of the Untagged, 4c Lincoln definitive from the Prominent Americans Series, Scott # 1303a. It is precanceled "DALLAS TEXAS", Precancel Stamp Society Style 71. It is NEVER HINGED and has flawless gum. The PSE Certificate number is 01355770. The 2024 Stamp Market Quarterly does not list values for stamps above Scott catalogue number 1207, but the 2022 Scott catalogue value for a Joint Line pair and 2 singles is $267.50. The Precancel Stamp Society Catalog of United States Bureau Precancels, 5th edition, states "Some collectors collect bureau precancels with gum. This is particularly challenging for issues before August 1967. Previously, sale of precancels to collectors was prohibited, and most dealers in bureaus soaked off the gum to avoid the appearance of violating postal regulations.
