The Burnished Silver Eagle which made it's debut in 2006 has become a favorite among savvy U.S. coin collectors due it being the rarest of the 3 regularly issued Silver Eagle varieties. Now for the first time in 35 years the classic American Silver Eagle is being updated with an enhanced obverse design and a brand new reverse design! The classic Walking Liberty design by Adolph Weinman is still featured on the obverse of the Type 2 Silver Eagle. However, thanks to technological advancements in the design and minting process, Liberty now encompasses some of Weinman's original details that were not previously possible! The Silver Eagle Type 2 reverse was designed by the artist Emily Damstra and sculpted by U.S. Mint Engraver Michael Gaudioso. It features an eagle as it approaches a landing, carrying an oak branch, as if to add it to it's nest. Also included in the reverse design are the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", "E PLURIBUS UNUM", "1 OZ FINE SILVER" and "ONE DOLLAR". This 2023 W $1 Burnished Silver Eagle was struck from 1 ounce of 0.999 fine silver and has been certified MS70 First Delivery by CAC grading!
