Description: 24+ Red St. Joseph amaryllis (Hippeastrum) seeds collected April/May 2023 from heirloom plants/bulbsover which are over 15 years old. We include the instructions for propagation which is fun to do! Bulbs are mature at about 3 years old and will begin to have spectacular flowers. Blooms are bright red with white centers and the bulbs will multiply very quickly with offsets. Germination rate has been 90-100% and the packet includes propagation instructions. St. Joseph amaryllis bulbs are hardy in the South and usually winter over, with the foliage dying back, just cover if there is a hard freeze. They will return in the early spring. Also, mature bulbs can be dug up in the early Autumn and forced for Christmas blooms, then replanted after the last frost. The vintage Rose Cottage Seed Company packets are great gifts for gardeners!
