Description: For sale is a Good condition illustrated hardcover 2 volume set of Greater Britain: A Record of Travel in English-Speaking Countries during 1866 and 1867 by Charles Wentworth Dilke. Frontispieces illustrated in full color, and text illustrated in black and white. Stated 2nd Edition, published in 1869 by Macmillan and Co. in London. Conditions of each volume follow: Volume I:Binding is sound and pages are generally unmarked, with the exception of minor foxing to first four pages, significant foxing to last three pages, minor partial visible mesh along endpapers' gutters, previous owner's bookplate affixed to first pastedown endpaper, two small bookstore stickers affixed to first pastedown endpaper and one to last pastedown endpaper. Boards are clean and square, with minor bumping to fore edge corners, minor scuffing to spine ends, a small faint spot to front cover, slight lean to spine, and minor shelf wear. Volume II:Binding is sound and pages are generally unmarked, with the exception of moderate foxing to first two pages, minor foxing to last two pages, minor partial visible mesh along first endpapers' gutter, moderate visible mesh along last endpapers' gutter, previous owner's bookplate affixed to first pastedown endpaper, and a small bookstore sticker affixed to first pastedown endpaper. Boards are clean and square, with minor curling to fore edge corners spine ends, partial split to cloth on head front and back spine hinge, a small spot to front cover, slight lean to spine, and minor shelf wear.
