Description: (3) 1901 Pan American Exposition Glass Souvenir Reticulated Plates (2) & an Opal Fry Pan (1) Three (3) Nice 1901 Pan American Exposition Glass Souvenir Items. The first item is a Decorated Camphor Glass Reticulated Plate with Three Embossed Kittens, made by the Westmoreland Specialty Company. The hand-painted plate has floral decorations beneath the kittens w/ ‘Pan-American Expo, Buffalo, 1901’ painted below the florals. The reticulated perimeter has been painted gold. The embossed kittens have been reverse painted from the backside of the plate. Most of the paint has been retained -- note especially the cat’s eyes that really stand out! Measures approx. 7” in diameter. NO chips, cracks, or repairs. The 2nd Item is also from Westmoreland Specialty Company. A Clear Glass #4 Plate with a hand-colored & pearlescent ‘Temple of Music’ drawing applied on red faux leather then adhered to the underside of the plate. On the left side of the Temple is the Machinery and Transportation Building and on the right is the Electric Tower. Around the edge of the plate is a decorative design of connecting fleur-de-lis that are reverse-painted gold and red, but most of the red has flaked or worn off. In small print above the temple it says, ‘‘Pan-American Expo, Buffalo, NY’. A caption in gold below says, ‘Temple of Music’. Measures approx. 7-1/4” in diameter. NO chips, cracks, or repairs.The 3rd item is an Opal Glass Frying Pan or Skillet with gold-colored edges with thermometer (missing) embedded in handle. A parody of the Raphael Beck Pan-Am Expo logo (continents as eggs) in the pan’s bottom. Caption says, ‘Pan-American Exposition, 1901, Buffalo, N.Y., U.S.A.’ There is a chip in one of the ridges on right-hand side. Otherwise, no other chips, cracks, or damage. The 2 souvenir plates are in VG Condition with NO Chips, Cracks, Crazing, or Repairs, with most of the painted decorations intact. The Opal Glass Frying Pan or Skillet has a small chip & is missing it’s paper-backed thermometer, but still in Good Condition. So, the Overall Condition of the 3 pieces, commensurate with their age of 123 years, is between Good and VG! Plus ALL 3 Pieces for One Money!!
