They are very fast maturing, laying eggs and ready to butcher by 6-7 weeks old. Eggs ship in foam. Special note: I am selling you the eggs to make the birds to make these eggs. Those pictured are most likely double yoked and would not hatch. I will send you all the extra large eggs that I believe to be singles. I regularly hatch these extra large eggs. They will not fit next to each other in a hatching tray. I keep my layers on a lower percentage of protein feed, only 19%, to avoid too many of these doubles and monster eggs but I still end up with a whole lot. The more protein you feed, the larger your eggs but please be kind to your new birdies and allow them to be laying for at least month before you try to get the biggest eggs you can out of them. In the summer, they sometimes lay twice a day. They are really amazing.
