Our name These Walls is derived from the saying: ‘If these walls could talk’. The spaces around us resonate with our unique stories, memories and our interiors are deeply intertwined in these conversations of living. These Walls was created in 2014 by Sara Hingle and husband Mick Hingle. Originally from Perth in Western Australia, Sara's creative career has seen her working as an editorial illustrator and designer on numerous publications in Australia and Internationally. Over the past decade, Sara found herself being commissioned on briefs designing and art-working patterns and a love for the 'world of pattern' arose as a result. All but a few designs by These Walls have been created by Sara’s hand. More recently, Sara has enjoyed working with like-minded artists and illustrators on which to commission and collaborate with, such as “Palmy” (by Llewlyn Mejia) and “Sunbird” (by Mia Taninaka) being the first of many to come.
