3DS XL Capture Card Install Service (Buyer Provides Console)

Description: This listing is a service that installs an Optimize (what Katsukity used) capture card to your 3DS XL. The listing includes the capture card, installation, a USB cable, and shipping to you. It does not include your shipping to me. !! This is not for the "New" 3DS XL! It is only for the regular 3DS XL. If your 3DS has ZL and ZR buttons, a c-stick, or a cartridge slot at the bottom of the console, it is a "New" model. If this is not clear to you, send me a picture of the console you want to send in to verify. Region does not matter. Japanese 3DS LL consoles are also okay. The process is simple. 0. You purchase the service. 1. I message you the address to ship it to. 2. You package it and ship it.* 3. I receive your console and install the capture card. 4. I ship it back out to you. *Please use a box and wrap your console well. If you shake the box and you can feel it still moving around, add more padding. Ignore the shipping estimate. Total time is between 1 to 2 weeks, ultimately dependent on the shipping service used. I use USPS Priority Mail. The capture card is a hardware modification that lets you capture video and digital audio from your 3DS XL via USB. Anything that shows up on the 3DS XL's screens will show up in the viewer software. The capture card port will always take over the original charge port. You will be able to charge and capture at the same time. Installing it this way means you can use the Circle Pad Pro while capturing. You're also able to use more grips while capturing than the usual installations. You have a choice of micro USB or USB C. Pick micro USB if you don't want any external cuts to the shell of your console. If you pick micro USB, the outside of the housing is kept the same but now has a micro USB port. The gap is filled with a 3D print. The port doesn't break as easily as the usual installations due to having some give to it. The metal contacts will no longer be functional (they're used for charging via the dock as far as I know). If you pick USB C, the extra plastic is snipped off and a 3D printed cover is used to fill in the gap. USB PD is supported so you're able to use USB C-only chargers and C-to-C cables. The Europe-exclusive all-pink 3DS XL and the silver NES Edition 3DS XL have unique colored housings. I would prefer doing micro USB on these consoles. I have pink and silver filament for the 3D print if you want USB C, but it won't match the color perfectly. This is a permanent alteration and the part can only be replaced from another console of the same edition. For all other editions, that part can be taken from any other black/white 3DS XL. Limitations of Optimize capture cards: 1. You can not use more than 1 capture card at a time per PC.* 2. Only works on Windows XP, Vista 7, 8, 8.1, 10, and 11. 3. Requires manual calibration and some tech savviness (you'll receive the calibration for your console, but some games may require different calibration settings). *You can use 2-3 with some trickery. Otherwise, the other way I've seen is using a separate PC for each capture card, and an HDMI capture card for each PC OR an HDMI multi-viewer with one HDMI capture card. This goes for all the other 3DS capture card listings not made by Loopy. If multi capturing is a must for you, consider getting Loopy's capture boards, as all of them support it (amount depends on how much your PC, specifically your USB controller, can handle). If you want your console "region freed," let me know after purchase. I can also change the region if it's a Japanese 3DS LL to be a North American console, and give you access to the NA eShop servers to link your NA Nintendo Network account. There is no added cost for this. I also offer controller mod installations.
