Description: Soho Pottery (England) 4 Ambassador Ware 8" Square Salad PlatesRed, Yellow, and Blue Flowers, Gold Trim (1930s) This is a gorgeous set of 4 square salad plates made by Soho Pottery (Cobridge, England), in the 1930s. The plates have lightly scalloped sides and corners, accented with thick gold trim on the rim and verge. The center is a lovely bouquet of red, yellow, and blue flowers, with small arrangements of the flowers around the rim. Each plate measures 8 inches wide across the center at the rim edge. The plates are in fair to good condition. Three of the four have very small chips or fleabites on the underside of the rims (see closeup photo with red arrows). One has heavy crazing, and two have light to moderate crazing (no discoloration or browning, thankfully, on any of the plates). There is also a bit of wear to the god trim on a couple of the plates (see closeup photo of rims) and utensil marks consistent with age. The bottom side of each plate has a round mark for "Soho Pottery | Ambassador Ware | England." There is also a gold hand-written mark that looks like 6789 4.
