Description: Gorgeous Long Wide bookmatched set of 4A Western Big Leaf Quilted Maple (acer macrophyllum) suitable for an electric guitar or bass drop top, laminate top, or thinline style top. **Please note there is heartwood along edges.** Even with this, this set is wide and long enough to easily fit common bass and guitar shapes with strong figure throughout the template. Photographed in bright sunlight. Photos in order are front with and without Strat template and closeup wet, then front and back dry. Wet photos use Denatured Alcohol to show figure. It dries fast and doesn't darken the color so drastically, but leaves grain slightly fuzzy. This figure will really pop with fine sanding, stain, and finish! Length 23-1/2" Total Width: 16" Thickness: .265" dimension tolerance: +/- 1/16" length and width; +/- .005" thickness Thickness Sanded to 120g 2 pieces unglued Defects: Stretch of heartwood on both faces of both pieces on outside edge. Saw marks that didn't clean in corners. With thin figured wood, some waviness is common. All boards are flat and flexible enough to work with unless otherwise noted. Edges are straight but will need to be jointed by machine or hand before gluing. My simple figured wood grading guidelines: 3A : average figure, may not be consistent across the whole pattern or side to side. 4A : Bold consistent figure most people will find very appealing. 5A : The most eye-catching fully figured pieces.With thin figured wood, some waviness is common.
