Description: Offered is this sterling silver compote, made by Gorham, item #1100. The piece has a simple clean design, with a round top and base. The base is weighted and the shaft is reinforced with an internal rod. I don't know how old it is for sure but it is probably old enough to be vintage. It is approx. 5 3/4" high, with the bowl about 5 7/8" across. It weighs about 216 grams, but of course much of that is in the weighting and reinforcing rod. It is in very good to excellent condition, with no damage, although there is some residual tarnish and the underside of the base has not been polished. There are some light marks from handling and use. Please take a moment to look at some of the other items in my eBay store!
