Circa 1900-1918 Marked for Royal Dux Bohemia: [Rose-Triangle Acorn] The large vase with a double-handled rim and additional handles to base adorned with pressed and painted ginkgo leaf design and gilt decoration The royal dux factory, a bohemian porcelain brand, was distinguished at the beginning of the 20th century by its art nouveau-style productions. Founded in 1853 near prague in dux, initially to produce utilitarian objects, the factory was bought by eduard eichler, a renowned artist, which marked the beginning of its prosperity. But it was from 1898, following its installation in berlin, that works of remarkable quality were produced. This important factory made vases, figurines, often feminine subjects, in exuberant decorations of flowers, leaves on seashell pedestals, fountains... The porcelain was left in the form of a biscuit, gilded or painted, often in green. During this art nouveau period, the company was successful thanks to a modeler-decorator alois hampel.
