Adventure went on to become one of the most profitable and critically acclaimed of all the American pulp magazines. The magazine had 881 issues (744 of which were the familiar pulp style with the later issues trending towards the non-fiction "men's adventure" genre). Pulp magazines were printed on cheap pulp paper which does not age well over the years and starts to become brittle with bits and pieces eventually flaking off while being handled. Many things affect the condition of a pulp magazine: it's age, how and where it was stored over the years relative to humidity and climate, how often it was read and handled, and preservation measures taken by later owners. Grading these magazines is somewhat subjective from seller to seller so the pictures of this pulp can help you see and judge the condition better. NOTES ON SHIPPING: Shipping will always be USPS First Class for individual pulps. However, I will always combine shipping and refund you the difference if you purchase more than one. If you purchase two pulps you will get a refund of $2.00 to $3.00. Purchasing three pulps will provide a refund of about $6.00 -$7.00. Four pulps will net a larger refund etc., etc. Anything over 13oz (2-8 magazines) will be shipped via Parcel Select which is slower than First Class. Ten or more magazines will be shipped in a Medium Flat Rate Priority Box and will arrive in three days. NOTES ON SHIPPING: I will always combine shipping for multiple purchases. Combined shipping invoice prices will be rounded down to the nearest dollar amount. I will never try to make money on shipping costs. Books will be shipped in either a solid cardboard box (made from re-purposed grocery store boxes) or well wrapped inside a bubble-wrap envelope. Larger soft cover books or magazines will be placed inside a plastic protector, and shipped with cardboard backing inside a reinforced mailing envelope. My packing methods will always protect the item from harm incurred during shipping. If you have any special requirements or concerns I will be happy to hear from you and ship according to your preferences so long as costs remain within the shipping price. Images sell!
