The outer pot is glazed outside and inside to hold water. The insert is glazed only on the rim so that the raw bisque can absorb water as needed. The outer pot measures 5.5" across from hole to hole. With the insert in place it is 3" high.The insert itself is 2 1/4 inches tall and 4 1/2inches across the top. The planting area is about 2" deep x 3.5 inches wide.
