Description: This listing is for a hand selected ambrosia maple board of exceptional quality.The board specifics are:Length - 39-3/16"Width - 5-1/4"Thickness - 15/16"General notes about our boards:Photos: The first few photos are of the selected face of the board and is wiped with water to simulate somewhat of a clear finish on the board for color and figure clarity. The later photos are of the back side of the board and are shown in the raw wood state. The inventory label we attached to the front of the board measures 1" x 2" for scale purposes.Flatness: We take great care to pick boards which are respectably flat given their length and width. If a board exhibits excessive twist, cup or bow we would not offer it for sale. That said, each board will have slight variations in flatness commensurate with the species and grain characteristics. Surface Finish: Our planers have helical carbide cutterheads and do a respectable job on mitigating tear-out on figured boards. A board may have some rough lumber patches present as we make a judgment call as to how much thickness to retain while smoothing the surface sufficiently. Our goal is always to leave as much thickness as possible to allow for final flattening and dimensioning.
