Illustrated with occasional maps in color throughout. Indexed. [xxvii] 1006 pp. CONDITION: This early edition is in overall "very good" condition, with wear and erosion on the cover and spine. Some chipping and wear along the edges, particularly at the spine with several small open tears. Hinges have weakened, but boards are firmly affixed and binding is solid. Leaves have evenly toned and have foxing, yet minimal, throughout. A nice, solid copy. As this edition is almost 5 lbs., additional shipping may be necessary.
