Description: This jar may date to the Eastern Han Dynasty (25 - 220 AD). It's approximately 2 3/8" tall and roughly 3" across. The pot appears in excellent condition with an ash glaze covering the majority of the body. Pottery from this time period was low-fired, with copper often added to the glaze. This resulted in a deep green color. The piece came to us from a very large collection of East Asian antiquities. Please note that we do not import or export ancient items. Additionally, our items typically come from people and businesses that we know and trust. We tend to avoid buying from unknown sources or individuals because we cannot guarantee that they have obtained their inventory through legitimate and ethical means. Our listings are researched prior to posting and our descriptions are informed by our own knowledge and experience as well as by the vendors from which we obtain our inventory. Thus, our titles and descriptions are our opinions as to the nature and history of the object for sale. These expressed opinions should not be treated as a statement of fact. Buyers should seek further information where inclined. We welcome discussions about concerns or questions PRIOR to purchase. Be sure to follow our shop as new inventory is added each week.
