Animals Pedal Diamond Peak Hybrid Over Drive The Diamond Peak Hybrid Overdrive is a compact pedal that produces the "distorted yet transparent" hybrid tone of many greats using the legendary high-output UK amps of the 60's and 70's. The Hybrid Overdrive is a low-gain overdrive that is a perfect match for the British overdrive of the early 70's. This compact pedal produces the authentic rock sound of British tube amps from the early 70's. Designed by Skreddy Pedals, the masters of classic rock tones, this pedal focuses on the midrange while capturing the sparkle that an amp gives off when it starts to distort. Based on the Major Overdrive, the gain is reduced and headroom is increased. The distortion has a light gain but a strong presence. The powerful tone control suppresses roughness and noise in the top end, and a darker tone can be achieved by turning the gain down even further. The sound is beautifully balanced, with a fine grain and clean chord separation, and it looks especially good on crisp cuts created by an amp-like attack.
